Exclusive: Man United Look to Secure £100m from Major Summer Clear-Out as Nine Players Head for Old Trafford Exit

Old Trafford side ready to cash-in on under-performing stars to help fund summer spending spree.

Man United boss David Moyes has been promised significant funds to invest in his Old Trafford squad this summer but as part of the club’s commitment to adhere to UEFA’s FFP (Financial Fair Play) guidelines the Scot is ready to conduct a major clear-out to help make way for new signings.

CaughtOffside understands that Moyes is keen to put his stamp on the squad he inherited from former boss Sir Alex Ferguson and as well as the likely departures of veterans Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic when their contracts expire at the end of the season a number of his first team squad are to be made available to prospective buyers.

Shinji Kagawa – £15m

David Moyes has relegated the Japanese international into little more than a bit-part player and there is every chance the 24 year old will be on his way in the summer.

Borussia Dortmund are said to be keen on the playmaker, who had an average first season at Old Trafford, and Man United are looking to garner £15m from his sale.

Man United invested £12m in Kagawa back in June 2012 but the Premier League side are looking to bank on making a profit from a player who has the potential to succeed elsewhere.

Kagawa has stated just seven Premier League fixtures this season and has failed to net a single goal in 18 matches across all competitions this term.

Ashley Young – £12m

The England winger has disappointed David Moyes greatly and the arrival of Juan Mata and the emergence of Adnan Januzaj will leave the Scot ready to sell the former Aston Villa man.

Young has come in for some criticism over the ease with which he goes down, an issue Moyes has addressed this season, but it’s his inconsistent displays that concern the Man United manager.

Man United will look to make £12m from his sale and there are thought to be a number of Premier League sides keeping tabs on the 28 year old, who’s national team chances have been negatively affected by his lack of first team action.

Alexander Buttner – £6m

Dutch full-back has looked lively when called upon but David Moyes doesn’t see the former Vitesse Arnhem man as a viable long term replacement for Patrice Evra and is looking to cash-in on the 25 year old.

A move back to the Eredivisie is a distinct possibility though Southampton are also said to be tracking Buttner.

Moyes has been actively pursuing Leighton Baines in the past two transfer windows, a sure-fire sign that Buttner is only seen as a back-up option.

Nani – £15m

The 27 year old Portuguese winger is known to be a player Juventus are keen to sign but Man United’s £15m price-tag held up the prospect of a January exit but the Premier League side are confident they can secure the sum in the summer.

At his best Nani is unplayable and has the experience to attract the very best and a move to Italy seems entirely plausible as the talented wide-man looks to re-ignite a career that has stagnated at Old Trafford in recent seasons.

Nani has played a total of 235 appearances for Man United, netting 40 goals, but hasn’t been a first team regular for a number of seasons.

Anderson – £8m

Brazilian midfielder has struggled with form and fitness and is now away on loan at Fiorentina, a move that will act as a shop window for a permanent exit.

The 25 year old has an £8m price-tag that Man United should be able to recoup and it’s likely that the box to box performer has played his last game for the club.

Anderson had initially impressed on arrival from FC Porto but for the last few seasons the battler has flattered to deceive.

Wilfried Zaha – £12m

For whatever reason David Moyes doesn’t appear to rate the England international and even with his other wide attacking options struggling for form the youngster barely got a look in under the Scot and was sent to Cardiff City on loan for the remainder of the current campaign.

Man United paid Crystal Palace £15m for Zaha last January and promptly loaned the winger back to the South London side for the second half of last season and Moyes is ready to consider offers for the 21 year old.

There is a chance that his former club could make an offer for Zaha if Tony Pulis manages to keep the Eagles in the top flight.

Tom Cleverley – £10m

England international midfielder has come in for a fair bit of criticism this season, failing to make an effective contribution, and David Moyes will make the 24 year old available with Tottenham and West Ham both said to be interested in the Man United man.

Moyes appears to be running out of patience with Cleverley and though he started the season as a regular in his first team set-up the midfield schemer has only started three of Man United’s last eight Premier League fixtures.

Rafael – £10m

David Moyes has lost faith in the young Brazilian’s ability to put in a consistent defensively minded display at right-back and as such has increasingly turned to Chris Smalling to fill the spot.

The Man United boss is actively looking to bring in a fresh option for the spot on the right hand side of his defence and will look to sell Rafael in the summer.

The 23 year old has been left found wanting on too many occasions for Moyes’s liking and there has been some speculation that a move back to his native Brazil may be on the cards.

Javier Hernandez – £15m

The 25 year old Mexican international has been a relatively prolific marksman when called upon but his chances have become even more limited under David Moyes and as such is seen by the former Everton boss as a player Man United can afford cash-in on.

Chicharito is behind Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck in the Man United striking pecking order and with Juan Mata and Adnan Januzaj also occupying berths in the final third there seems little chance for Hernandez to figure regularly.

La Liga side Valencia are known to be keen on Hernandez and may well be ready to meet the club’s very reasonable £15m valuation.

Hernandez has scored 57 goals in 152 appearances for Man United, of which a massive 61 were from the bench.
