Exclusive: Chelsea Look to Bank £75m In Eight Man Blues Clear-Out Sale

Stamford Bridge side looking to trim expansive squad whilst also boosting transfer funds.

Jose Mourinho is ready to conduct a major squad clear-out this summer as he seeks to make room for prospective additions during what may prove a very busy transfer window for the Chelsea boss.

CaughtOffside understands that Mourinho is keen to fund moves in the transfer window partially from the sales of players he either deems as not part of his long term plans or those who would not be content with merely warming the Blues bench.

The West London club will look to sell eight players in moves that they hope will help bank around £75m to help boost Mourinho’s transfer war-chest.

Thibaut Courtois – £18m

Jose Mourinho is well aware that the Belgian, now into his third successful season on loan at Atletico Madrid, will not be happy to warm the Blues bench and with Petr Cech the Chelsea manager’s undisputed number one the West London side are ready to cash in on Courtois.

21 year old Courtois is considered one of the best young keepers in European football and as such Chelsea want to bank a large sum from his sale and are will not sell for less than £18m, roughly the same price Man United paid Atletico Madrid for David de Gea.

Fernando Torres – £15m

Chelsea paid £50m for the Spaniard just over three years ago but will now accept as little as £15m for the former Liverpool man.

The 29 year old’s record of just 19 goals in 101 Premier League appearances for Chelsea has severely dented his sell-on value but Blues owner Roman Abramovich is ready to bite the bullet as Jose Mourinho looks to make way for a more prolific striker to lead his attack.

A move back to La Liga is the most likely to tempt Torres.

John Obi Mikel – £12m

Battling midfielder is now down Jose Mourinho’s central midfield pecking order and is to be made available this summer.

The 26 year old has made over 300 appearances for Chelsea but has started just nine Premier League matches this term and the January addition of Serbian Nemanja Matic has all but ended Mikel’s Blues career.

Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have both registered their interest in the Nigerian international.

Demba Ba – £8m

The experienced Senegal international has struggled for form since his £7m move from Newcastle United last January and Mourinho is keen to offload the bit-part player in the summer.

Jose Mourinho will look to pull off outright sales as opposed to considering loan offers, this being an attempt to trim Chelsea’s expansive squad as well as being an effort to better adhere to UEFA’s FFP (Financial Fair Play) guidelines.

Newcastle United are said to be interested in re-signing Ba, especially if they fail to convince loaned in forward Loic Remy to join the Magpies on a permanent basis.

Victor Moses – £7m

Young Nigerian wide-man has struggled for form during his season long loan spell at Liverpool, indeed the 23 year old has made just six Premier League starts this season.

When called upon Moses has in the main been ineffective, scoring twice in 18 appearances in all competitions, though Mourinho will hope that an interested buyer appears on the horizon in the summer.

Chelsea hope to garner £7m from the sale of the former Crystal Palace and Wigan Athletic winger.

Marko Marin – £6m

Pint sized German may well have wished he hadn’t moved to Stamford Bridge as he’s barely had a chance to impress since his move to the club back in the summer of 2012.

Marin signed a five year deal but has started just two Premier League fixtures and is currently on loan at La Liga side Sevilla.

The German international’s career is stagnating at Chelsea and a move back to the Bundesliga is now on the cards with the Premier League side looking for just £6m for the 24 year old.

Ryan Bertrand – £6m

The England man was seen as a long term successor to Ashley Cole but Jose Mourinho doesn’t seem to rate the 24 year old as being able to fill the position, with Chelsea known to be keen on Southampton youngster Luke Shaw.

Bertrand is enjoying the taste of some much needed first team action at Aston Villa and Mourinho will allow the Blues wide-man to complete a permanent switch to Villa Park for a fee of around £6m.

Gael Kakuta – £3m

French midfield dynamo last played a senior fixture for Chelsea back in May 2011 and has been away on loan at the likes of Fulham, Bolton, Dijon, Vitesse Arnhem and now Lazio.

In an effort to get his first team squad down to a more manageable number Mourinho will sanction the sale of a number of long term loaned out talents and will hope to bank around £3m from the sale of Kakuta, using his presence in Serie A as a shop window for his talents.
