10) Alvaro Negredo – Manchester City – 3 goals from outside the box

Negredo has a tremendously powerful shot with his left foot, and three of his nine Premier League strikes so far this term have come from distance. City fans will be desperate for Sergio Aguero to return to fitness and reform his excellent partnership with the Spaniard.

9) Eden Hazard – Chelsea – 3 goals from outside the box

Hazard is Chelsea’s most exciting attacker, and one of the first names on Jose Mourinho’s team sheet. He’s mesmerically talented, and is lethal from distance when he cuts in on his right foot from the left wing.

8) Gary Hooper – Norwich – 3 goals from outside the box

Hooper has only scored five goals all season, but over half of them have come from outside the box. At Celtic he was known for his penalty box finishing, so Norwich fans will hope he re-finds his clinical nature soon.

7) Kevin Mirallas – Everton – 4 goals from outside the box

Everton’s Belgian flyer is more renowned for his excellent dribbling and mazy runs than his long shots, but he’s registered free from range this term for the Toffees.

6) Yohan Cabaye – Newcastle United – 4 goals from outside the box

Cabaye was enjoying a superb season for the Magpies up until Christmas, which convinced PSG to shell out big money for his services when the January transfer window opened.

5) Wayne Rooney – Manchester United – 4 goals from outside the box

United’s attacker, recently awarded a £300k-per-week contract extension, has been creatively effective while still getting himself on the score sheet this term. He’s bagged ten, four of which came from range, and assisted nine as well.

4) Yaya Toure – Manchester City – 4 goals from outside the box

The Ivorian powerhouse has been put on freekick duty for City this term, and it’s paid dividends. He’s bagged three of them, and scored once more from long range with a powerful drive.

3) Jonjo Shelvey – Swansea City – 4 goals from outside the box

Shelvey has a ferocious long shot, and scored  a beautiful curling effort from outside the box against his former club Liverpool last weekend.

2) Daniel Sturridge – Liverpool – 4 goals from outside the box

Sturridge scored from distance on the opening day of the season, which saw Liverpool beat Stoke and set the tone for their impressive term. The Englishman also registered a brilliant chip versus West Brom at Anfield from outside the area.

1) Luis Suarez – Liverpool – 7 goals from outside the box

Remarkably, seven of Suarez’s 23 goals this term have come from long range. He’s scored freekicks, but most notably scored a goal of the season contender against Norwich from 40 yards.
