Top 10 Shortest Premier League Players: Tottenham Flyer Pips Arsenal’s Spaniard

Liverpool’s Welshman also makes the list!

Courtesy of the Premier League’s official website, here are the shortest players in the top flight right now!

10) Jonathan Williams, Crystal Palace – 1.68m

Not a well known by any means, diminutive Welsh midfielder Williams has made nine appearances from the bench this term in the top flight, but has yet to win his first Premier League start.

9) Wes Hoolahan, Norwich City – 1.68m

Hooloahan almost joined Aston Villa during the January transfer window, but is still a Canaries player after a move fell through. The 31-year-old is technically excellent, and makes up what he lacks for in physicality with the ability to slide teammates through on goal.

8Larnell Cole, Fulham – 1.68m

No relation to former Manchester United striker Andy (despite a strange likeness), Cole joined Fulham this January transfer window from the Old Trafford club, after starring in various United youth sides.

7)Santi Cazorla, Arsenal – 1.68m

Probably the highest profile player on this list, Cazorla has two equally exceptional feet, and is a key part of an Arsenal side that are challenging strongly for both the Premier League and the FA Cup this term.

6) Leon Britton, Swansea City – 1.68m

Britton made his debut for the Swans back in 2004, and has risen with the club into the Premier League, and was a key part of the side that won the League Cup last season. His ability to retain possession with simple passing is especially impressive.

5) Vurnon Anita, Newcastle United – 1.68m

The diminutive Dutchman has been a virtual ever present for the Magpies, and on his day, provides adequate protection for the back four by sitting in front of the defence and looking to intercept possession.

4) Joe Allen, Liverpool – 1.68m

Signed by Liverpool for big money when Brendan Rodgers arrived at the clubs a season and a half ago, Allen has struggled to truly implement himself on a midfield, with Jordan Henderson now regarded as an automatic selection.

3) Emanuele Giaccherini, Sunderland – 1.67m

Sunderland fans were extremely excited by the arrival of the uber-talented Italian international, but a few flashes of brilliance aside, the playmaker has struggled to adapt to English football.

2) Aaron Lennon, Tottenham Hotspur – 1.65m

Lennon is extremely quick, and his low centre of gravity means his agility enables him to skip past fullbacks regularly. He’s not likely to win many aerial duels, however!

1) Nathan Dyer, Swansea City – 1.65m

In a very similar mould to Lennon, Dyer’s small stature helps him skip past defenders down either wing – and he’s been a regular starter for Swansea since 2009.

Now see who are the tallest Premier League players.
