Reds are not happy with current No 1 Mignolet.
Premier League giants Liverpool have emerged as the new favourites to sign departing FC Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes at the end of the season, according to reports in the Daily Express.

The experienced Spain international has already confirmed that he will definitely be quitting the La Liga champions this summer when the shot stopper’s contract at Camp Nou comes to an end.
However, it had initially been expected that Valdes would be joining mega-rich Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco on a lucrative Bosman-style free transfer instead, only for reports in Spain to now claim that Reds head coach Brendan Rodgers has been in contact with the 32-year-old about the possibility of the keeper moving to Anfield next season.
And this is because the Northern Irishman is understood to currently be unhappy with Belgium international Simon Mignolet who only arrived at the Merseysiders from Sunderland for a fee of £9m at the beginning of this campaign to replace previous Liverpool No 1 Jose Manuel Reina between the posts at Anfield, with the Spaniard himself joining Serie A outfit Napoli on a season-long loan spell this campaign.
Valdes has played in a mammoth 529 games for Barca since 2002.
