Fabio Coentrao – Real Madrid

The Portuguese international has been a long time target for the club, but without Andre Villas-Boas at the helm it is unclear as to whether he is still on their wish list. However, having struggled to fill the position over the past two years they will need a new quality left-back to make the spot his own for the next few seasons, and they could do much worse than Coentrao. They could well have been handed a boot in the race for his signature after it emerged that Man United would be focussing their attentions on Luke Shaw.

Ezequiel Lavezzi – Paris Saint Germain

The Argentine forward looks set to leave the French capital this summer after failing to break back into the first team on a regular basis this season. Spurs could look to bring the wild man on board in a bid to help ease their striker crisis, and as well as predominantly operating through the middle he can play on the flanks too, which would solve another potential Erik Lamela shaped hole in the process. He has never been a truly prolific goal getter, but he plays like he has a dagger between his teeth and would bring a certain elevated spark to the side’s attack.

Javier Hernandez – Manchester United

The Mexican can’t seem to buy a game at United this season and he has made his feelings clear about moving on for regular first team football this summer. Always one that scores when he plays, he would be the ideal man to utilise the creative talent that Spurs posses in midfield and he would undoubtedly get himself into double figures if given the chance.Out:

Roberto Soldado

Expensive mistakes are hard to undo, but dealing with them quickly will certainly make the blow easier to take. Soldado has been £26m of disappointment this season as he has failed to live up to the standard set by Alvaro Negredo at Manchester City and looks set for a quick return to Spain at the end of the season. Atletico Madrid have been credited with an interest and could be willing to pay up to £18m for his services. Spurs would be wise to snap their hand off for it.

Lewis Holtby

The German international has not managed to make a name for himself at White Heart Lane since joining a little over a year ago and has since been shipped out on loan to Fulham for the remainder of the season. And because of his inconsistent appearances it is difficult to know what he can actually do. However, if AVB declined to play him and Tim Sherwood sanctioned his move to west London then the writing is most likely on the wall.

Nacer Chadli

Spurs only seemed to sign Chadli because he was available at the time and they had more money than they knew what to do with. Another one that hasn’t played or come close to justifying his price tag. Spurs should take what they can get for him and free up some space in the squad for some new blood to come in and impress.
