Chelsea Player Ratings: Schurrle Scores Hat-Trick Against Fulham In Blues Victory

The Blues go marching on…

Here are the Chelsea player ratings from Jose Mourinho’s side’s easy 3-1 win away to Fulham today…

GK) Petr Cech – 6

Didn’t have an awful lot to do for Chelsea, but did concede a goal in the second half when the game was already won for Chelsea.

DR) Branislav Ivanovic – 6

Passed the ball simply from the right-back position, although rarely got forward to overlap Schurrle ahead of him.

DC) John Terry – 7

As solid and composed as ever, from the player who has probably been the best centre-back in the country this Premier League season.

DC) Gary Cahill – 6

Has a fantastic partnership alongside his skipper Terry at the back for the Blues, but will be annoyed his side didn’t keep another clean sheet.

DL) Cesar Azpilicueta – 7

Got forward up the left flank regularly, but didn’t neglect his defensive duties either. On this form, Ashley Cole might not get another start all season.

MC) Nemanja Matic – 7

Provided his side with the defensive platform in the midfield from which the rest of the side could play. His signing in January might well just secure the league title for the Blues this season.

MC) Ramires – 6

Not an especially outstanding performance from the Brazilian, but he kept play ticking over in the centre of the park nicely. Struggled to really get forward as often as he may have liked, however. Picked up a booking, too.

AMR) Andre Schurrle (David Luiz – 87′) – 10

The German justified Jose Mourinho selecting him ahead of Willian by scoring a crucial hat-trick in the second half. Exceptional performance, and was rightly given a standing ovation as he left the field.

AML) Eden Hazard – 7

Was outshone by Schurrle on the other flank, but still drifted infield nicely to help his side dominate possession against Craven Cottage today. Also pulled off a beautiful ‘rabona’ cross that will forever be played in his highlight compilations!

AMC) Oscar (Mikel – 71′) – 5

Another subdued performance from the Brazilian, who has very much gone off the boil in recent weeks. Struggled to show his wonderful creative side.

FC) Fernando Torres (Ba – 82′) 6

Fairly quiet performance from the Spaniard who was selected ahead of Samuel Eto’o after his Champions League goal in midweek. Missed a guilt-edged chance in the second half, too.
