10) AS Roma: 7.11

The Roman outfit are flying high in Serie A at the moment after having started the season with a sensational long unbeaten run, while Rudi Garcia’s exciting team have still only lost one match in the Italian top flight as we now enter March, the same as league leaders and the current champions Juventus.

9) Manchester City: 7.11

For a large portion of the campaign, Manuel Pellegrini’s easy on the eye outfit have one of the standout teams on the Continent, with few other sides in the whole of Europe able to match the north-west giants form at home in the Premier League, where City have been banging the goals in for fun at Eastlands, at least until in recent weeks.

However, it is the big-spending top-flight outfit’s inconsistent form on the road though that does not seem them placed higher in this list.

8) Paris Saint-Germain: 7.12

The mega-rich Ligue 1 champions currently hold a slender five-point lead over arch rivals AS Monaco as they look to retain their crown in France, and with Laurent Blanc’s men having been turned over on just the one occasion in the entire league campaign so far, they are one of the most in-form sides in any of the Continent’s top-five leagues.

7) Borussia Monchengladbach: 7.12

The Bundesliga outfit are lying in a highly respectable position of sixth at present in the German top flight as we enter the business part of the season, with the team’s excellent disciplinary record and pass completion rate stats helping to make them a shock entry into this top 10 list.

6) Bayer Leverkusen: 7.12

And joining their fellow Bundesliga outfit in this top 10 are Sami Hyypia’s high flying outfit who despite their recent thrashing at the hands of PSG in the first leg of their Uefa Champions League round-of-16 tie, are still riding high in the German first division as the closest challengers to champions and runaway leaders Bayern Munich.

5) Liverpool: 7.17

What a joy to watch Brendan Rodgers’s free-flowing and attack-minded team have been in the Premier League in this campaign, with the Northern Irishman’s young charges currently the top scorers in the entire English top flight having found the back of the net on a remarkable 70 occasions to date, more than even headline-grabbing Manchester City have managed.

4) Borussia Dortmund: 7.18

It has not been the greatest league campaign that the Bundesliga outfit have ever produced under the management of inspirational head coach Jurgen Klopp, with Dortmund lying in third place in the German top flight at present, however, only fellow Bundesliga outfit Leverkusen have won more aerial duels than they have this season, which has helped to bump them up to fourth position here.

3) Real Madrid: 7.22

Carlo Ancelotti’s men have totally turned around the race for this season’s La Liga title after at one point trailing the champions and arch rivals FC Barcelona by a large number of points after suffering defeat in El Clasico last October, but a long unbeaten run in the league since that setback at Camp Nou has now sent los Blancos to the top of the table in Spain.

2) FC Barcelona: 7.28

The La Liga champions began this campaign on fire in Spain, with new head coach Tata Martino’s men going on a long unbeaten run at the beginning of the season,  and while the Catalan giants may have slowed up of late in their efforts to win back-to-back league titles, they are still the team with the second highest amount of possession on average across Europe’s top five leagues in this campaign.

1) Bayern Munich: 7.41

No real great surprise to find Pep Guardiola’s impressive side heading this top ten list after the sensational start to life under the former Barca boss the Bavarians have made, with the Bundesliga champions currently still unbeaten in the league after the first 22 matches of the campaign as they go in search of successive championship wins.

And when you look at the various indicators by which the teams have been measured, then one can understand just why the Uefa Champions League holders have been such a formidable outfit to date, with Bayern leading the way when it comes to red cards, average possession of the ball, pass success percentage and so also their overall average rating too.
