Here’s how we’ve rated and ranked Chelsea’s squad so far this term…

20) Marco Van Ginkel – n/a

Has been injured for virtually the entirety of the season, and made only two short cameo appearances for the Blues early on.

19) Mohamed Salah – n/a

Hans’t had enough time or chances to make an impact since arriving from FC Basel in January.

18) Demba Ba – 4

The Senegalese has not had many chances, but with only one Premier League goal, he hasn’t really earned many either.

17) Ashley Cole – 4

For the first time in his career, Cole is not a first-team regular any more. His contract expires at the end of the season, and he’s likely to end his Stamford Bridge tenure.

16) John Obi Mikel – 5

Mikel’s only started nine Premier League games, and failed to stand out much in the Blues midfield. Matic was signed in January, and will make the Nigerian’s chances of starting many more matches this term quite slim.

15) Fernando Torres – 5

Yet again this season, the £50m Spaniard has struggled to score Premier League goals – netting only four so far. He’s been better in Europe though, bagging four in the Champions League.

14) Samuel Eto’o – 5

Like Torres, Eto’o hasn’t found scoring league goals easy this year, although he did register a crucial hat-trick versus Manchester United.

13) Andre Schurrle – 5.5

Schurrle would be rated lower if it wasn’t for his hat-trick against Fulham this weekend just gone. In the league, he’s only been awarded eight starts, although is likely to keep his place in the side after his recent performance.

12) Frank Lampard – 6

Not a regular starter any more for Chelsea, Lampard has still bagged five goals and three assists in his 15 Premier League starts.

11) David Luiz – 6

Luiz has done well in holding midfield, but he’s struggled to get in the side in his natural centre-back position, because of the form of Terry and Cahill.

10) Oscar – 7

The playmaker has gone off the boil in recent weeks, but still has scored nine goals in all competitions, showing more than a few glimpses of his undeniable talent.

9) Nemanja Matic – 7

Since arriving in January, Matic has excelled in the defensive midfielder position, putting in a match-winning performance against title rivals Manchester City.

8) Ramires – 7

Ramires provides the side with brilliant energy and dynamism from midfield. He’s passed the ball simply, but covers more ground than any other Chelsea player.

7) Willian – 7

Since winning a place in the side, the Brazilian summer signing has impressed everyone with his constant work-rate up and down the right flank.

6) Petr Cech – 7

No other regular Premier League keeper has conceded less goals than Cech this term, who has been a consistent presence in the Chslea goal all season.

5) Cesar Azpilicueta – 7.5

The Spaniard’s excellent form at left-back has kept Cole out of the side since November. He’s been ultra solid defensively, and is now a key part of of the best defence in the country.

4) Branislav Ivanovic – 7.5

Provides the side with a constant attacking option up the right flank, while being uncompromised defensively. The Serb has also bagged three important Premier League goals.

3) Gary Cahill – 8

Formed a fantastic partnership with Terry at the back, largely keeping Brazilian international David Luiz out of the side. Is very composed with the ball at his feet, but also is extremely strong in the air.

2) John Terry – 9

Terry’s marshalled the side with the best defensive record in the country, making countless last-ditch tackles and heroic blocks for Mourinho’s side.

1) Eden Hazard – 9

Pretty brilliant all season. He’s the best dribbler in the Premier League, and has bamboozled defences week in week out. The Belgian is the Blues top scorer with 14 in all competitions, and their most important player right now.
