The contract will double the Welshman’s current salary and make him the second highest earner at the Emirates Stadium, behind record-signing Mesut Ozil.
The Wales international still had over two years left to run on the contract he signed in December 2012 but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was keen to increase the midfielder’s wages and tie him down for the foreseeable future.
In more good news, Ramsey returned to full training this week after more than two months out with thigh injury.
Ramsey’s new deal is the fourth contract he has signed since joining Arsenal from Cardiff for £5m five years ago, and reflects his stunning start to this season.
He currently boasts eight league goals and six assists in 18 Premier League appearances and the Gunners have struggled in his absence.
