AML: Wayne Rooney
The jewell in the crown of the North West XI is surely Man United’s Rooney. The Liverpudlian will lead the line for England at next summer’s World Cup, but due to shortages in quality personnel, we’ve had to shift him out wide in this line up.
AMR: Danny Welbeck
On the opposite flank is Rooney’s club-mate Welbeck, who will also be a big part of England’s World Cup plans. The versatile forward is a tireless worker, who is comfortable on either flank or leading the line.
ST: Rickie Lambert
Lambert may play for the Premier League’s southern most club but he hails from Liverpool and completes an impressive trio of England internationals up front for the North West XI.
