Chelsea to Launch £8m Bid for PSG Youngster

Stamford Bridge side look to bring in Parc des Princes wonderkid.

Chelsea are readying a move for PSG starlet Adrien Rabiot after reports that the midfielder has snubbed the offer of a new deal from his Parc des Prince employers.

The Metro claim that the rangy teenager has demanded an increase from his current £5k a week deal to as much as £60k a week, a demand that PSG are unwilling to entertain.

Jose Mourinho has been linked with a move for the 18 year old in January and has scouted Rabiot this term and is keen to continue his youthful transfer policy as he seeks to freshen up his Blues squad.

Chelsea will offer £8m for the French Under 21 international, who has featured in 21 games in all competitions this term.

Mourinho may well elect to allow Frank Lampard to leave Stamford Bridge this summer and Nigerian international John Obi Mikel could be offloaded after becoming surplus to requirements and this could make room for the addition of a youthful central midfield addition.

Dutch youngster Marco Van Ginkel is also likely to make an impact next term when he returns from his lengthy spell out with an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
