Red Devils Revolution: How Manchester United Could Line Up In 2014/15, With Arsenal Defensive Addition, German International Capture and English Starlet Signing

Edinson Cavani could play up top for the Red Devils nest season…

With United boss David Moyes promised a mammoth transfer budget in the summer, here’s how we reckon the Red Devils could line up at the start of next season…

GK) David de Gea

The United stopper has been one of the bright sparks in United’s difficult season, and at just 23-years-old, is destined to start in goal for the Red Devils for the foreseeable future.

DR) Rafael

The young Brazilian has all the talent to eventually be classed as one of the best fullback’s in Europe, and if he can stay fit, he can achieve his potential at United. He’s very good offensively, and he’ll no doubt mature defensively.

DC) Phil Jones

Jones’s natural position is at centre-half, and Sir Alex Ferguson even claimed he had the potential to be one of United’s greatest ever players before he retired last summer. (The legendary manager, that is) With Rio Ferdinand ageing, and Nemanja Vidic leaving, Jones could be the main man next year, if Moyes gives him an extended run at centre-back.

DC) Thomas Vermaelen (Metro)

While Jonny Evans is a solid option, Vermaelen is technically stronger, and United could take advantage of the fact the Belgian can’t get a game at Arsenal right now. The Gunners will reportedly do business for £12m, which is will within United’s budget.

DL) Luke Shaw

The second new acquisition in United’s lineup, Shaw recently won his first England cap, proving he’s one of the most promising young defenders in the country.

There’s no way Southampton can hold on to the wonderkid forever, and with Patrice Evra’s contract expiring, it makes sense for the Red Devils to move for Shaw as soon as possible.

He’ll cost big money, but he’s worth it.

MC) Marouane Fellaini

The Belgian has struggled this term, but after returning from injury, has actually put in some promising Premier League performances. After Moyes signed him for £27m last summer, the Scottish boss has to give Fellaini an extended run in the team, so expect to see him take the midfield anchorman role ahead of Michael Carrick and the much criticised Tom Cleverley.

MC) Toni Kroos (ESPN)

Now this would be a seriously good signing…

Kroos passed Arsenal to death in the Champions League two weeks ago, proving to everyone that he’s one of the technically best, most fluent midfielders in Europe right now.

Although it seems farcical that Bayern would part ways with the world-class operator, there have been reports recently from his family that the slick midfielder would consider a move to the Premier League…

At just 24-years-old, he’s more than capable of running United’s midfield for the best part of the next decade.

AMR) Juan Mata

With Rooney deployed in Mata’s favoured ‘no.10’ role, Moyes has no choice but to start the £37m former Chelsea man from the right. He will of course be given licence to drift infield however, and link up with United’s centre-midfielders.

AMC/FC) Wayne Rooney

The highest paid player in the country (£300k-per-week) will no doubt be deployed in United’s pivotal creative ‘no.10’ role next term. Apart from Rooney, no Premier League player has ever reached double figures for both goals and assists in five different seasons.

AML) Adnan Januzaj

With a full pre-season under his belt, the Belgian wonderkid is only likely to be even better. Moyes has withdrawn him from the firing line in recent weeks, but he’s undoubtedly got the talent to develop into one of Europe’s finest attackers if given the chance.

FC) Edinson Cavani

Here’s the big surprise…

We reckon ‘RVP’ (Robin van Persie) could leave United this summer, following strange comments made to the media recently about how his teammates are occupying the spaces he likes to work in.

Moyes also subbed him at the weekend, and the brilliant Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani is reportedly irritated by the fact PSG continue to deploy him from the right wing instead of up top.

If United were to break the bank, they could potentially snare the world-class attacker.
