The 10 Most Booked Premier League Stars, With Chelsea Defender & Manchester United Forward

Newcastle and Swansea battlers also make the list…

These ten Premier League stars have picked up more bookings than anyone else so far this term…

10) Claudio Yacob – West Brom – 7 yellow cards

The Argentine is charged with breaking up opposition play in the centre of the park (he’s made more tackles per match than anyone in the league) and as a result, he’s received eight yellows.

9) Cheick Tiote – Newcastle united – 7 yellow cards

The Magpies midfielder is known for his battling qualities, and is an automatic selection for Alan Pardew’s side when fit.

8) Branislav Ivanovic – Chelsea – 7 yellow cards

Probably the best right-back in the league this season, Ivanovic provides as much going forward as he does defensively. The Blues top the table by seven points right now, and are most people’s favourites for the title.

7) Angel Rangel – Swansea – 7 yellow cards

The Spanish defender is a stalwart in Swansea’s defence, and although he is comfortable with ball at his feet, he’s more than ahppy to put a tackle in.

6) Wayne Rooney – Manchester United – 8 yellow cards

One of only three attackers on the list, Rooney has picked up eight yellows this term. Being deployed slightly off a central striker, the Englishman is charged with putting in his fair share of tackles, which has resulted in countless bookings.

5) Morgan Schneiderlin – Southampton – 8 yellow cards

Southampton’s Frenchman provides the platform from which the likes of Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez can play, and is probably the unsung hero in their impressive season.

4) Marouane Chamakh – Crystal Palace – 8 yellow cards

Chamakh has picked up more yellow cards than he has goals this term, which says a lot about work-rate, but arguably more about his finishing!

3) Jonathan Walters – Stoke City – 8 yellow cards

The Potters’ front man is known for tracking back and contributing defensively. This term, he’s only notched four, two of which have come from the spot.

2) Gareth Barry – 8 yellow cards

Barry’s been praised massively for his passing this term, and he’s regularly dictated tempo in Everton’s midfield. He’s also got stuck in however, and as a result, he’s picked up eight yellows.

1) Jonas Olsson – West Brom – 9 yellow cards

Another Baggies player to make the list, Olsson has picked up more bookings than any player in the Premier League.  He prides himself on his combative defensive approach, although he’ll likely have to reel it in with his side battling to stay in the top flight.
