Here’s five players Arsenal have been heavily linked with for potential summer transfers..

CaughtOffside has ranked them from 5-1, in terms of how excited Gunners fans would be about their arrival!

5) Loic Remy – QPR (Currently on loan at Newcastle) – (The Mirror)

Most Gunners fans will want a bigger name striker addition than Remy, but with an £8m release clause, the forward could prove huge value for money for Arsenal.

He’s arguably a more clinical finisher than current first-choice striker Olivier Giroud, and with 13 goals already this term, has more than proven his Premier League pedigree.

Arsene Wenger typically signs French players, and Remy (currently on the books at QPR) could prove a very attainable option.

4) Alex Song – Barcelona – (The Mirror)

Song shone at Arsenal, which tempted Barcelona to shell out big money for his services back in 2012.

The Cameroonian ace though struggles to get in Barca’s side, and has made only nine La Liga starts this term. He’d walk into the Gunners first XI though ahead of Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini, and would no doubt be welcomed back with open arms at the Emirates.

3) Alvaro Morata – Real Madrid – (The Metro)

The Spanish giants have quoted Arsenal a steep £25m price-tag for the uber talented 21-year-old forward, who can’t get a look in at Real Madrid with the phenomenal trio of Ronaldo, Bale and Benzema leading the line.

Morata has scored 13 goals in 12 matches for the Spanish Under-21s, and is as powerful as he is technically adept.

He’s undoubtedly overpriced (he’s only been given one La Liga start this season) but he could still prove an excellent piece of business.

2) Antoine Griezmann – Real Sociedad – (Goal)

The young French winger has been exceptional in La Liga this term, scoring 15 goals from wide on the left, an establishing a reputation as one of the most promising young attackers in Europe. Arsene Wenger has admitted to Telefoot TF1 that he’s been, “following Antoine Griezmann for a long time,” although after the 22-year-old’s excellent season, he would likely demand a serious transfer fee.

1) Julian Draxler – Schalke -(Sky Sports News)

The prodigal young German was heavily, heavily linked to Arsenal in the January transfer window, and no doubt remains a target for the summer. There have been rumours that Bayern Munich (arguably the best club side on the planet) want the wonderkid, but as Arsene Wenger proved with the acquisition of Mesut Ozil last summer, he can tempt even the most special playmakers to move to the Emirates.

Draxler is a sublime dribbler, has exceptional feet, and under the French manager’s guidance, could maximise his unbelievable potential.
