10. Fabio Borini

The Italian hasn’t scored many goals but he has scored some big ones. The Liverpool loanee has endeared himself to the Mackem faithful by scoring home and away against Newcastle but has hinted that he wants to return to Anfield in the summer for another crack at the big time.

9. Lucas Piazon

Young Chelsea loanee Piazon had an explosive start to the season at Eredivisie oufit Vitesse Arnhem but the 20-year-old Brazilian has gone off the boil since Christmas. Even so, 11 league goals and eight assists in 24 league appearances suggest he has been crucial to Vitesse’s faltering title challenge.

8. Joel Campbell

Calls for Arsene Wenger to give the 21-year-old a chance at the Emirates Stadium next season are growing after Campbell scored a brilliant goal for loan club Olympiacos to sink Manchester United in the Champions League last-16 first leg. The forward followed the strike up with a stunning chipped goal for Costa Rica this week.

7. Suso

Valencia are reportedly keen to give Liverpool’s Suso a higher platform next season, with the 20-year-old continuing to impress at La Liga strugglers Almeria. But Brendan Rodgers is likely to give the winger, who has bagged seven goals and two assists so far this season, another chance at Anfield.

6. Jake Livermore

Livermore is not the most glamorous player in the Premier League but the Tottenham loanee has been quietly effective for Hull City this season and his partnership with Tom Huddlestone has been a huge part of the Tigers’ success.

5. Romelu Lukaku

If Chelsea fail to win the title, Jose Mourinho may question his decision to allow Lukaku to join Everton for the season. The Belgian is still just 20 but has bagged ten Premier League goals and five assists for the Toffees, outscoring all of the Blues strikers.

4. Rafinha

Premier League fans may not be familiar with 21-year-old Spaniard but the Barcelona loanee is catching the eye for mid-table La Liga outfit Celta Vigo. The right winger could be given a chance to shine on a much bigger stage at the Nou Camp next season.

3. Gareth Barry

Everton’s loan signing of 33-year-old Man City midfielder didn’t seem the most inspiring business of the summer but Barry has been brilliant for the Toffees. The experienced midfielder has been a great replacement for the departed Marouane Fellaini and has an outside chance of making England’s World Cup squad.

2. Loic Remy

In a inconsistent season for Newcastle, Remy has been a shining light, bagging 13 league goals so far. The Frenchman is almost certain to leave QPR this summer but he may be targeted by bigger clubs than the Toon, who will miss out on European football next term.

1. Thibaut Courtois

The Belgian has been at Atletico Madrid for nearly three seasons and is enjoying another superb campaign between the sticks. Courtois has made it clear he will not return to Chelsea to sit on the bench, so Jose Mourinho must decide between the 21-year-old and Petr Cech.
