Arsenal Target In-Form International Striker You’ve Probably Never Heard Of

Rejoice Gunners fans as Arsene Wenger looks to bring in unknown forward to the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal are lining up a summer move for in-form Nurnberg striker Josip Drmic according to the Metro.

Arsene Wenger is certainly in need of adding to his striking contingent, not least as both Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott have missed massive chunks of the season through injury, but one wonders if 21 year old Swiss international Drmic is the right man for the job.

Arsenal have been linked with big name strikers such as Karim Benzema and Jackson Martinez so for Wenger to now turn his attention to Drmic is sure to dumbfound Gunners fans who want to see money invested in established stars.

That said it is worth noting that Drmic is one of the top scorers in the Bundesliga, having netted 11 goals in 23 starts for Nurnberg in his first season at the German club.

Drmic has also scored twice in five appearances for the Swiss international side, and is likely to be in action during the 2014 World Cup finals.

Wenger has had scouts monitoring Drmic for much of the current campaign and a summer bid is in the offing.
