Exclusive: Arsenal to Offload Ten In Major Clear-Out as Wenger Targets £65m Pair

Emirates Stadium side to clear way for significant summer signings.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to put pen to paper on a new Gunners contract and will then set about conducting a squad re-shuffle with as many as ten players set for possible Emirates Stadium exits.

CaughtOffside understands that the Emirates Stadium side are looking to tie down Wenger to a new three year contract and will back the French manager with a significant transfer war-chest, which will be boosted by the sale of a number of under-performing players with a trimmed squad offering the club the ability to cut their wage bill to make room for new additions.

Arsenal vice-captain Mikel Arteta is fighting for his Gunners future with Wenger ready to listen to offers for the Spanish midfielder who has struggled for form this term.

Often used in a holding role the former Everton man has failed to provide the steel needed to prevent opposition advances and Wenger is readily looking for a possible replacement for the 31 year old with Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin top of his wish-list.

Arteta is into his third season at Arsenal and could well be sacrificed as Wenger looks to freshen up his midfield.

Injury prone Frenchman Abou Diaby will be made available for sale this summer with Arsene Wenger having ran out of patience with the long term Arsenal star.

The 27 year old is into his ninth season at Arsenal but persistent injuries have restricted the midfielder to just 92 Premier League starts.

Arsenal may struggle to secure a decent fee for Diaby as he is once again sidelined, this time with a long term knee injury though there is said to be interest from a number of Ligue 1 sides.

Diaby may well be keen on a move back to his native France as he seeks to re-ignite his flagging career.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will allow Thomas Vermaelen to leave in the summer but only once he has brought in a central defensive addition to offer back-up to first choice pair Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker.

Belgian international Vermaelen has been left to warm the bench for the best part of a year and is said to have told Wenger he wants to seek a move away at the end of the current campaign.

Vermaelen is said to have suitors in Germany, Italy as well as apparent interest from a number of Premier League sides.

The 28 year old is no doubt concerned that a prolonged period without regular football could be detrimental to his standing in the Belgian national team set-up.

Danish international Nicklas Bendtner was ushered back into the Arsenal first team set-up this term but this has chiefly been down to the lack of alternative options available to Arsene Wenger but recent off field antics will see the North London club look to sell the big forward.

Wenger will accept any decent offers for the 26 year old who has spent much of the past three years out on loan and is a player who has in many ways outstayed his welcome at the Emirates Stadium.

Bundesliga sides Schalke and Wolfsburg are both said to be keen on the bit-part player, who has started just one Premier League fixture this season.

Arsene Wenger appears ready to also consider selling German forward Lukas Podolski who has struggled with form and fitness in his second campaign at the club.

The 28 year old has been unable to offer consistent support for forward Olivier Giroud, racking up just five Premier League starts, and there is a growing sense that Wenger may look to cash-in on the former Koln man.

Wenger wants to freshen up his attack and has set his sights on youthful striking additions which would only serve to further limit Podolski’s involvement in first team action.

Podolki had a handy first season at Arsenal, scoring 16 goals in all competitions, but has looked off the pace and ineffective in 2013/14.

Quite how South Korean Park Chu-Young is still at Arsenal has dumbfounded many but Arsene Wenger is ready to offload the former AS Monaco man and will do so for a nominal fee.

The signing of the then 26 year old back in August 2011 has to rank as one of the strangest Arsene Wenger has ever made. Now on loan at Watford, he made his first start against Bolton, the Hornets lost and he was hauled off on the hour.

Wenger may well be ready to release the forward on a free transfer if a fee for his services can not be secured.

Arsene Wenger is ready to offload Johan Djourou on a permanent basis with the centre-back currently on loan at Hamburg and seemingly keen to remain at the German club.

The 27 year old has never looked capable of forging a spot as a first team regular at Arsenal and Wenger will seek to find a permanent buyer for the Swiss international in preference to sending him out for another loan spell.

Ignasi Miquel will be offered to interested parties this summer with Arsene Wenger unlikely to be offering the Spanish Under 21 international a new deal with his current contract having just over 12 months to run.

The youngster has failed to impress during his loan spell at Leicester City, with the Foxes tellingly losing three of the six Championship matches he has featured in.

Miquel moved to Arsenal as a 16 year and has made just one Premier League start.

Lukasz Fabianski will demand an Arsenal exit this summer after failing to overcome national team colleague Wojciech Szczesny for the starting spot between the posts.

The 28 year old will seek an exit to secure some much needed first team football and Wenger will consider offers for the Polish international, who has impressed when called upon in cup action this season.

Talented French youngster Francis Coquelin also looks set for a permanent Emirates Stadium exit with Arsene Wenger ready to offload a player he still rates highly.

The 22 year old is enjoying regular first team football at Bundesliga side Freiburg though a permanent move to the Mage Solar Stadion will depend on the club’s ability to retain their spot in the German top tier.

Coquelin has made 24 appearances in all competitions and a return to Arsenal would simply see the midfielder warming the bench.

Arsene Wenger will look to convince French full-back Bacary Sagna to put pen to paper on a new deal and has earmarked moves for two German internationals.

The Arsenal boss is ready to step-up his pursuit of Schalke youngster Julian Draxler and is ready to offer £30m for the 20 year old, who he will look to field in a central midfield role.

Wenger will also push on with efforts to land Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus, who is seen by the Emirates Stadium boss as an ideal player to link midfield and attack.

Jurgen Klopp may struggle to keep hold of his top talents with star striker Robert Lewandowski set to join Bayern Munich in the summer and Reus may feel the time is right to consider a Westfalenstadion with Borussia Dortmund a country mile behind the runaway leaders from the Allianz Arena.

Arsene Wenger wants to use Reus in a similar manner to which Dennis Bergkamp was employed in the ‘hole’ behind the club’s strikers and is ready to sanction an opening bid of around £35m for the former Borussia Monchengladbach man.
