Arsenal & Tottenham To Battle For Cultured French International Midfielder

The 27-year-old has long been linked with a move to the Emirates as manager Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of his, though most recently there was interest from Atletico Madrid and Newcastle United during the January transfer window.

Gourcuff has been one of Lyon’s stand out performers ever since joining the club from Bordeaux back in 2010, though many believe that he has not lived up to the expectations that have surrounded him after failing to make the grade whilst at AC Milan as a youngster.

But that hasn’t been enough to deter Tottenham, who are looking to get their assault on the top four back on track next season by revamping their squad at the end of the current campaign.

A number of players that were brought in last year are likely to be shown hasty exits and the club will look to replace them with fresh talent from around Europe.
