Ten Big Name Stars Who Could Be Set for Premier League Moves This Summer

Ten stars that may be on their way to the Premier League this summer.

10. Victor Valdes – Barcelona to Manchester City

The Barcelona stalwart has stuck by his desire to seek out a new challenge by ending his 19-year association with the club by moving on to new pastures at the end of the season. Several top European sides have been linked with his signature, but only a handful will be able to afford him. Manchester City have been one of the clubs mentioned, and though Joe Hart has recovered somewhat from his early season dip, his place may come under threat by the Spanish international.

9. Hulk – Zenit St Petersburg to Chelsea

The Brazilian striker raised everybody’s eyebrows by making the move to Russia in 2012, and unsurprisingly; he’s not having a very good time. Tensions between him and the fans have threatened to reach boiling point and a bad run of form has seen him notch just 18 goals in 54 appearances over a two-year spell. However, that has not been enough to stop Chelsea from taking an interest in his services.

8. Toni Kroos – Bayern Munich to Manchester United

The German international has struggled to gain a regular foothold in the Bayern first team since Pep Guardiola took over, and the fallen Premier League champions Manchester United have been hopeful of bringing him on board ever since the January transfer window. However, Bayern have flip-flopped from issuing hands off warnings to hinting that he may be available for the right price. One thing that is for sure, though, is that armed with an extensive war chest David Moyes will make a concrete offer over the summer.

7. Mario Mandzukic – Bayern Munich to Arsenal

Another Bayern star that could be set for the chop is the Croatian international striker, who faces seeing his place in the starting line up under threat thanks to the imminent arrival of Robert Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund. And if he should leave he won’t find himself wanting for too long as Arsenal, Chelsea and now Juventus are keen on bringing him on board. However, Arsenal are still in pole position to bag his services as their need for a new striker reaches a critical stage.

6. Alex Song – Barcelona to Manchester United

The Cameroonian left the Premier League two years ago, but things haven’t exactly worked out for him in Spain. Sure, he has a couple of winners medals to add to the collection, but he is slightly more acquainted with the subs bench than he would care to admit. Seemingly given up the ghost on his time in Catalonia and is ready to make a long awaited return to the familiar throes of England with Manchester United.

5. Radamel Falcao – Monaco to Chelsea

Unluckily for Falcao his season had been derailed early on thanks to a wild tackle from a French minnow in a cup game and now he faces a race against time to be ready for the World Cup. However, he had made his dissatisfaction at playing in front of half empty stadiums in France known and a big money bid from West London could get him out of there.

4. Marco Reus – Borussia Dortmund to Manchester United

Poor old Borussia Dortmund, no sooner than they begin to build a modern day dynasty a host of clubs come along to steal away their best talent, well, one club mostly – Bayern Munich. However, with his midfield in a state this season, Manchester United boss David Moyes has joined the Bavarians in trying to snare away their latest superstar and he will have the money to do so too.

3. Edinson Cavani – Paris Saint Germain to Chelsea

It’s always a shame to see a world class striker in the prime of his career join a club like PSG, moves that are most likely motivated by how many zeros are on the end of a cheque and the promise of easy trophies. Not to say that Cavani is a money grabber, but his sudden desire to leave the French capital does speak volumes, and Chelsea will be at the front of the queue to collect.

2. Julian Draxler – Schalke to Arsenal

Arsenal’s interest in the young German international has stretched back to last summer, and the proposed deal between the two to take the player to north London is already threatening to reach ‘saga’ proportions as his on-again-off-again switch has left Arsenal fans confused as to whether they are actually even still going to make a move for him.

1. Diego Costa – Atletico Madrid to Chelsea

The Brazilian-cum-Spaniard has been in high demand this term as his goals have threatened to break the monopoly held at the top of La Liga by Real Madrid and Barcelona. A big money bud had been mooted this summer, but the Blues could be in line to steal him away in a cut priced £27m move.
