Arsenal Target World-Class Quartet In £100m Spending Spree

Emirates Stadium side ready to spend big this summer.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will be handed a £100m transfer kitty this summer according to the Daily Telegraph.

The veteran Gunners manager is to put pen to paper on a fresh contract this summer with the North London club confident that the 64 year old will commit to a new deal with his current one set to expire in a matter of months.

Arsene Wenger is hopeful of ending a nine year silverware drought with Arsenal having secured passage to the FA Cup semi-finals and still in with a decent chance of a Premier League title following their narrow North London derby win over Tottenham.

Arsenal are ready to spend big with this source stating that they can afford to once again fork out £40m+ on new additions, having smashed their transfer record to sign Mesut Ozil last summer, and four targets have been named as being on Wenger’s wish-list.

Mario Mandzukic

The Bayern Munich forward is likely to see his first team chances at the Allianz Arena severely limited by the imminent arrival of Borussia Dortmund ace Robert Lewandowski, this has led to speculation that the Croatian will seek a move away from the Bavarian side.

Mandzukic has been a massive success since moving to Bayern Munich from Wolfsburg back in June 2012, scoring 45 goals in 76 appearances in all competitions and playing a pivotal role in the club’s treble winning success last season.

Jackson Martinez

Arsene Wenger is also keen on FC Porto forward Martinez, who could be the latest in a long line of players who are sold on at a massive profit by the Primeira Liga side.

The Colombian has scored a phenomenal 54 goals in 78 appearances and could follow in the footsteps of previous FC Porto hot-shots Radamel Falcao and Hulk in pursuit of a high profile move.

Martinez’s value could well sky-rocket if he performs well as the 2014 World Cup finals so Wenger would do well to register his interest before the tournament gets underway.

Julian Draxler

20 year old came close to joining Arsenal in January and is set to be high up on the Arsenal summer wish-list.

Schalke want a big price for the attacking midfielder and Wenger has the cash to make a significant offer for the German international, who already has 133 club appearances to his name.

Draxler is sure to be part of Joachim Low’s 2014 World Cup finals squad and is a player who could provide an ideal link between midfield and attack and is known to be a player Wenger admires greatly.

Diego Costa

The Brazilian born Spanish international has been in sparkling form this term, netting 22 La Liga goals thus far, but he could well be the latest in a long line of talents Atletico Madrid would be willing to cash-in on.

Costa may feel he has gone as far as he can at over-achieving Atletico and indeed if Diego Simeone’s La Liga and Champions League challenges amount to nothing then one imagines the 25 year old would be even more open to a fresh challenge.

A move to Arsenal could also see the forward secure a big pay-rise.
