United need to replace the departing Anders Lindegaard.
Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is a target for Premier League champions Manchester United, for who his father played with such distinction in the Nineties, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The Denmark international’s reputation has been growing massively of late, especially after the 27-year-old’s brilliant display between the sticks for his country in their recent friendly international defeat to England at Wembley Stadium.
And now with the highly rated shot stopper’s current deal with the high-flying Championship outfit set to run out at the end of the campaign, it is expected that the Dane will instead move on elsewhere to try out a new challenge in his career, which is most likely to be in the Premier League.
However, if Schmeichel’s agents recent comments on the matter are anything to go by, then his client is clearly a man in demand.
“Kasper has played on a very high level for a long time, and we can also notice a lot of interest from many clubs. His performance against England doesn’t make the interest smaller,” said Mads Frederiksen.
“From a commercial perspective, it opens up some great opportunities for Kasper in relation to personal sponsorship deals, so it’s a very exciting time for him.”
