Tottenham Player Ratings From 2-2 Draw With Benfica, With Chadli Outstanding

Spurs player ratings from the 2-2 Europa League last-16 second leg draw with Benfica at the Estadio da Luz.

Brad Friedel: 7

Powerless for both Benfica goals and was otherwise fairly solid.

Kyle Naughton: 7

Decent display from Naughton, who looks so much better at right back than on the left.

Danny Rose: 6

Not at his flying best and was guilty of some poor control in key areas. Looks unfit.

Sandro: 7

An admirable performance from the Brazilian out of position. Gave away a silly penalty in the final minute when tired.

Zeki Fryers: 7

The 21-year-old looked solid at centre back. He may have more of a future in the heart of defence than at full back.

Aaron Lennon: 7

He was beaten too easily for Benfica’s first but looked very dangerous in the final 15 minutes when Spurs were all over the hosts.

Andros Townsend: 6

Not the England international’s best performance. He lost the ball too frequently and wasted a number of good positions. He did have one good effort fly just wide in the second period.

Nabil Bentaleb: 8

Arguably the youngster’s best display in a Spurs shirt. Bentaleb controlled the midfielder and executed some wonderful long passes, particularly in the second half.

Gylfi Sigurdsson: 6

The Icelandic star looked like a player who hasn’t featured much this season and missed a good chance at the end.

Nacer Chadli: 8

The Belgium’s best performance for the club. He looks so much better in the number ten role and scored two great goals, and was unlucky not to provide a third for Sigurdsson.

Roberto Soldado: 5

Another disappointing night for the Spaniard, who missed a great early chance. Spurs looked much better when Harry Kane replaced him.

SUBS

Harry Kane: 7

Was unlucky not to win a penalty and had a good chance saved late on. Impressive.

Christian Eriksen: 7

Everything went through him after his introduction and he arguably should have started.
