Arsenal’s predicted lineup to take on Chelsea.
GK: Wojciech Szczesny – The Pole is now firmly entrenched as the club’s number one and will look to continue his impressive form against the Blues.
RB: Bacary Sagna – No surprises here, the Frenchman has been in excellent form despite an uncertain future.
CB: Per Mertesacker – Will need to watch his positioning as the pace of Hazard and movement of Eto’o could cause him problems.
CB: Laurent Koscielny – Cool and composed against Spurs, he will look to continue that into this fixture.
LB: Kieran Gibbs – Will need to balance his runs forward with awareness at the back away from home.
CM: Mikel Arteta – The Spaniard will be looked upon to control the game’s flow and dictate the pace and how Arsenal best use possession.
CM: Mathieu Flamini – Flamini will likely be recalled to the starting line up to make sure Arsenal have a strong base in the middle, with the Frenchman doing most of the dirty work.
CAM: Santi Cazorla – With the amount of injuries currently blighting the squad Cazorla will be given the green light to be the creative force just behind the strikers.
AMR: Tomas Rosicky – He will be Wenger’s first choice on the right, but may face a late fitness text to be able to fulfil his manager’s wishes.
AML: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – He missed out against Spurs last week, but he is fit enough to prove against Chelsea that he lives for the big occasion.
ST: Olivier Giroud – The Frenchman’s spot was never really in doubt as Arsenal suffer from a lack of fresh options up front. He will still be looking to add to his 12 goals this season, though.
