Done deal. Old Trafford side secured deal to sign Portuguese international.
Man United have reportedly agreed a £37m deal to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho according to the Sunday People.
The 21 year old has been in fine form over the past 18 months, form that has helped his side challenge for the Primeira Liga title whilst securing a first call-up to the senior Portuguese national team set-up.
The defensive midfielder’s agent has already visited Man United’s Carrington training ground with Man United having agreed to pay the youngster’s massive £37m release clause and will bring in the tough tackler before the World Cup finals get underway.
Indeed Carvalho is set to be the first of five major signings David Moyes will look to make this summer with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward working hard to bring in top notch new additions.
Carvalho will provide Moyes with an out and out defensive midfielder that he currently doesn’t possess and could be an addition that allows Belgian Marouane Fellaini to venture further forward where he is of more use to Man United.
The Angolan born battler has spent a great deal of time out on loan in recent seasons but has been a regular in Leonardo Jardim’s first team this term, starting 23 of the club’s 24 domestic league fixtures and is now considered one of the hottest prospects in European football.
