Anfield side continue to chase in-form Sevilla star.
Liverpool continue to pursue Sevilla midfielder Ivan Rakitic and have lined up an offer they hope will persuade the La Liga side to sell according to Football Direct News.
The 26 year old Croatian international has become a sought after commodity following an excellent series of displays for his La Liga side.
Indeed Rakitic is not only one of the La Liga’s leading assist makers he has also bagged 11 goals in 25 top tier starts and could be the latest big name to leave Sevilla.
The cash-strapped side sold Jesus Navas, Alvaro Negredo and Gary Medel, among others, over the summer and still seem to be in need of further sales to balance the books.
Liverpool are ready to offer £15m as well as young Spaniard Suso, who is enjoying a loan spell at Almeria, as part of a player plus cash offer.
The Anfield side did business with Sevilla over the summer when they brought in youngster Luis Alberto so may well have a positive relationship with the Spanish side.
Brendan Rodgers could well do with further creative midfield options and may see Rakitic as a long term replacement for 33 year old veteran Steven Gerrard.
