Giant attacker has netted just five times in all competitions all campaign.

Premier League leaders Chelsea are preparing to offload out-of-favour front man Demba Ba at the end of the campaign, according to reports in the Sun.

The Senegal international has only been at the west London club for just over a year now, with the giant striker moving to Stamford Bridge in the previous January transfer window from Newcastle United on a three-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

However, it is fair to say that in the intervening period with the Blues, Ba has failed to nail down a regular starting berth up front in west London, especially since former manager Jose Mourinho returned to the capital at the end of the previous campaign for a second spell in charge at the club.

As a result, Ba has fallen down the pecking order of Chelsea strikers, with the self-styled Special One instead opting to go with either veteran Samuel Eto’o or club-record signing Fernando Torres in attack, so much so that the Senegalese has not even started a game for the Uefa Europa League holders since last December.
