Championship chasing Manchester City travel to fourth-placed Arsenal on Saturday evening for a huge Premier League encounter and this is the starting lineup that we expect the visitors to go with at the Emirates …

GK: Joe Hart

The England international has been in eye-catching form since he was recalled to the Blues’ starting lineup after being dropped by Manuel Pellegrini earlier in the campaign.

RB: Pablo Zabaleta

Once again, the all-energy right back has been one of his club’s most impressive performers with a combination of rock-solid defending on City’s right flank and constant raids into opposition territory too.

CB: Vincent Kompany

What a relief it must be for the north-west giants to have their inspirational skipper back at the heart of their defence, as was ably seen with his commanding display against champions Manchester United at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

CB: Martin Demichelis

The experienced Argentina international has responded well in recent weeks to all the criticism that came his way in the immediate aftermath of the club’s first-leg loss to FC Barcelona in their Uefa Champions League round-of-16 tie at Eastlands last month.

LB: Gael Clichy

The Frenchman will be relishing his return to the north London club with the Blues on Saturday evening, and will surely be desperate to put an end to whatever slim hopes the Gunners may still have of winning this season’s Premier League by leaving the Emirates with all three points.

CM: Yaya Toure

Surely the best central midfielder in the Premier League so far in this campaign, with the long-legged Ivory Coast international’s ability to switch between operating as a holding midfielder to playing as a marauding forward player one of his strongest assets.

CM: Fernandinho

Again, the Brazil international has been absolutely vital to the north-west side’s success this season, and the defensive midfielder is sure to be in for a busy evening against the north London club this weekend.

RM: Jesus Navas

Excellent in City’s midweek win at the home of city rivals Manchester United, the Spain winger is set to keep his place in the City starting lineup for their tricky-looking trip to the capital on Saturday as he gives the team great balance, width and also crucially, bundles of pace too.

LM: Samir Nasri

Another former Arsenal star who is set to return to face his old team-mates, and the home fans would like nothing less than seeing the France international leave the Emirates with a win.

AM: David Silva

The Spain playmaker has recovered in time from an ankle injury picked up against United on Tuesday to take his place in the ‘hole’ against the Gunners, from where the twinkle-toed attacker is sure to cause the home team plenty of problems on Saturday evening.

ST: Edin Dzeko

A brace either side of half-time against the Red Devils, including a first-minute opener at the Theatre of Dreams, means that the Bosnian striker is sure to keep his place at the head of City’s attack ahead of Alvaro Negredo this weekend.
