Anfield side chase Serie A duo.
Liverpool boss is keen to bring Swiss midfield pair Gokhan Inler and Valon Behrami and will use Spanish keeper Pepe Reina as bait in pursuit of the Napoli duo according to the Sunday People.
Rodgers is right to look into ways to add strength in depth to his midfield and has clearly done his homework in assessing the qualities both Inler and Behrami possess.
Tough tackler Inler could offer Liverpool some much needed steel, which they currently only really get with Brazilian Lucas Leiva, who has struggled with injuries in recent seasons.
Former West Ham man Behrami is more of a utility man who is comfortable on the ball and able to fill roles in both the centre of the park but the 28 year old most commonly used in wide areas.
Reina has enjoyed his season on loan at the San Paolo and would certainly jump at the chance of a permanent switch.
This source claims Liverpool could bring in the Napoli duo for a fee of £15m and will offset just under half of that with the addition of Reina into the bargain.
