9. Stephan El Shaarawy – AC Milan

The Italo-Egyptian forward broke on to the scene last season with great aplomb, but after a series of niggling injuries has lost his place in the starting XI this time around. 8. Lucas Digne – Paris Saint Germain

The young full-back set tongues wagging with Lille last season, and it was only natural that a greater power would swoop in and snap him up. Unfortunately, it’s not worked out for him this season and there is a danger that his development could be stunted if not playing regularly. Clubs in Italy and England have been watching him closely.

7. Xherdan Shaqiri – Bayern Munich

The fleet footed winger set Europe alight whilst at Basel, so much so that Bayern pounced on is signature before anyone else got a look in. However, he has been unable to break into the first team on a regular basis and with Liverpool and Arsenal both watching him, a summer bid may convince him to rebuild his career in the Premier League.

Having arrived last summer, the former Malaga man was expected to continue to illuminate La Liga at the same rate. However, game time has been difficult to come by and rumours of his discontent have failed to die away. However, still wanted by the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Paris Saint Germain he could get his chance to shine again soon enough.

5. Alvaro Morata – Real Madrid

Another Madrid star who is looking for more game time is the young striker Alvaro Morata. Arsenal are still hot favourites to make a summer move, but Juventus may have something to say about that.

4. Adrien Rabiot – Paris Saint Germain

The France international left PSG last summer because he wasn’t playing enough, and upon joining Liverpool he has discovered that he still isn’t. 2. David Luiz – Chelsea

The Brazilian use be wondering what he did wrong. After being one of the key components to their successes last season he has suddenly found himself on the outside looking in. 1. Iker Casillas – Real Madrid

The former ‘best goalkeeper on earth’ has been relegated to the role of cup ‘keeper over the past 18 months, and though he originally vowed to win his place back his patience will be wearing thin now. Manchester City remain keen, but others will be interested as well.
