Czech is contracted to Stamford Bridge until June 2016.

La Liga giants Atletico Madrid want Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech to be their new No 1 at the Vicente Calderon next season, with their current first-choice shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois set to take over from the experienced Czech Republic international at Stamford Bridge this summer, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

According to recent reports, the giant Belgium international is finally set to be handed the role of keeper at the West London club next season, three years after the Blues first signed the player from Belgium outfit Genk on a five year deal.

However, the youngster has spent the intervening period out on loan with Atleti, however, with the La Liga side now set to lose the services of Courtois this summer, head coach Diego Simeone has been busy of late scoring the market on the Continent in the search for a new goalkeeper to lure to the Spanish capital.

But it now appears as though the man that the Argentinian trainer wants to replace the departing Courtois is none other than the shot stopper who the Belgium himself is taking over from in west London next season, although whether the 31-year-old would be willing to make such a move remains to be seen.
