The brilliant Germany international, who is currently still recovering from the hamstring injury that he sustained playing against Bayern Munich in the Uefa Champions League last month, was snapped as he got out of his imported £200,000 Mercedes SLS earlier this week.
And in his hand appeared to be the player’s new No 11 Arsenal shirt for the next campaign, even though it jas not officially been released by the club.
Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says that Ozil will not be back in time to face Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup semi-finals this weekend: ‘The FA Cup will be too soon for him, but he will hopefully be back soon after that.”
And Ozil’s compatriot and the former Arsenal No 1 Jens Lehmann has backed the German to shine at the Emirates.
“Mesut Ozil will be a big success at Arsenal,” Lehmann told talkSPORT. “You have to remember that every player who has come from abroad needs to get used to the rhythm of the Premier League.
“You don’t know how your body is going to react after the winter period – in no other league is it so hard to play throughout the whole season. You get a little break in Spain and Germany.
“It is his first season at Arsenal, but he is a fantastic player.”
