Yevhen Konoplyanka

Any fool can see that Spurs’ left side has been a weak spot this season, with number ten Christian Eriksen often forced to play out of position on the flank due to the dearth of decent options. Liverpool nearly signed Ukraine international Konoplyanka in January but Dnipro’s chairman has since said he is in talks with Spurs. The thought of the winger and a in-form Erik Lamela either side of Eriksen is quite a tasty prospect…well, more so than Aaron Lennon and Nacer Chadli…

Dejan Lovren

There’s no guarantee Spurs will hang on to Jan Vertonghen this summer, while Michael Dawson is a lovely chap but arguably not up to scratch. Add Younes Kaboul’s dodgy knees into the mix, it’s fair to say the club need a new centre half in the summer. Southampton’s Lovren has had a brilliant debut season in the Premier League but it looks as though Saints’ talented squad could be broken up this summer. Spurs should target the Croatian even if they don’t appoints Mauricio Pochettino as boss.

Christian Benteke

Spurs reportedly wanted to sign the Aston Villa striker before turning to Roberto Soldado last summer. They must now wish they’d stumped up Villa’s £25m asking price rather than opt for the hopeless Spaniard. The Belgian has not hit the same heights this season as he did last term but still boasts nine league goals and he would surely thrive given service from the likes of Eriksen (and Konoplyanka).

Adam Lallana

Sorry Saints fans… As well as Lovren, Spurs should look to target midfielder Lallana. The England international has improved beyond recognition this season and, at 25, is yet to reach his prime. Lallana plays the ‘Tottenham Way’ and would slip into the midfield beautifully alongside Christian Eriksen, Mousa Dembele and co.

Daley Blind

With Danny Rose not up to scratch for a club challenging for the top four, and Kyle Naughton not up to scratch for a Sunday League team, Spurs have looked desperately short at left back this season; Netherlands international Blind would solve that. The Ajax star, who can also operate in midfield, has been one of the Eredivisie champions most consistent performers this season and would surely jump at the chance to join former teammates Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen in north London.
