How we think Manchester city will line up against Liverpool.
GK: Joe Hart
Hart is still on thin ice under Pellegrini, but will have the perfect chance to show that he is still a top quality stopper against Liverpool.
RB: Pablo Zabaleta
The Argentine is undisputed first choice at right-back and could cause the Reds trouble with his marauding runs down the flank.
CB: Vincent Kompany
The Belgian will need to be at his absolute best if he is to keep Luis Suarez quiet.
CB: Martin Demichelis
The former Malaga man has not caught up with the pace of the Premier League, but he must be doing something right behind the scenes as continues to make it in ahead of Joleon Lescott.
LB: Aleksandar Kolarov
The Serb has been one of the bright sparks of the City defence this term and will be expected to provide some threat down the left flank.
RM: Samir Nasri
The Frenchman has been in excellent form this term and will be expected to rotate flanks with David Silva on the left.
CM: Yaya Toure
City will be looking to Toure to pull the strings in the middle with his superior vision, passing, running, shooting, everything.
CM: Fernandinho
The Brazilian’s presence will allow Toure to pull the strings from further forward and he will provide an extra cover in front of the defence.
LM: David Silva
In another rich vein of form again this term, will switch frequently with Nasri to keep Liverpool’s full-backs on their toes.
ST: Sergio Aguero
Fit again and ready to cause havoc.
ST: Edin Dzeko
The big hit man has proved his worth during Aguero’s absence and will line up alongside the Argentine to batter Liverpool’s back line.
