Toni Kroos (Bayern Munich)

German international midfielder is Man United’s number one summer transfer target with the club’s chief executive said to have already opened talks with Bayern Munich.

The 25 year old was dropped earlier this season after his demands for a massive pay-rise were shunned by the Bavarian club. The talented midfielder has just over a year to run on his current deal and is seeking parity with the likes of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben, who are said to earn well over double the £60k a week deal Kroos is currently on.

Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)

Another German international said to be on the Man United wish-list the attacker could well be the ideal man to link midfield and attack at Old Trafford.

Jurgen Klopp may struggle to keep hold of his top talents, especially as star striker Robert Lewandowski has already agreed a move to domestic rivals Bayern Munich.

Reus has proven a big success since moving from Borussia Monchengladbach to the Westfalenstadion, scoring 39 goals and providing 25 assists in his two seasons at the club.

One wonders if such a move for Reus could include the use of Japanese international Shinji Kagawa moving in the opposite direction.

Luke Shaw (Southampton)

Teenage left-back is seen by David Moyes as the ideal man to replace Patrice Evra, with the French international set to leave Man United when his contract expires this season.

The 18 year old England international won’t come cheap but a good offer may well be accepted by the Saints if Shaw pushes for a St Mary’s exit.

Chelsea are also said to be keen on the youngster who has matured into a consistent performer and one of the hottest prospects in English football.

Eliaquim Mangala (FC Porto)

Young French centre-back has been rock solid over the course of the past two seasons, helping his FC Porto side to back to back Primeira Liga titles.

With FC Porto struggling to retain the title this term there is every chance the 22 year old would look to leave in pursuit of a high profile move.

With both Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic set to leave Old Trafford David Moyes is certainly in the market for a fresh central defensive purchase.

William Carvalho (Sporting Lisbon)

Portuguese international enforcer is said to be high up on Man United’s wish-list with some sources claiming a £35m deal for the 22 year old.

Man United lack an out and out defensive midfielder and a move for Carvalho would see Marouane Fellaini pushed into a more attacking role which would better suit the Belgian, who has struggled when used in a holding midfield spot.

Carvalho is a talented youngster with a great deal of potential but one wonders if Moyes is ready to stump up such a huge fee for a player with relatively little top level experience.

Seamus Coleman (Everton)

Having used the likes of Rafael, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones in the right-back role this term David Moyes is now looking to lure in-form Republic of Ireland international Coleman to fill the berth.

The 26 year old has been a hugely important member of Roberto Martinez’s first team set-up this season and isn’t a player the Spaniard would want to lose.

However a big money offer for a player who cost just £60k would be hard for chairman Bill Kenwright to turn down, especially if the Toffees fail to secure a top four finish and a lucrative Champions League spot.

As well as being solid at the back Coleman is also hugely effective in the final third.
