The 21-year-old has been the subject of some intense speculation this season as he continues to struggle to break into the first team at the Santiago Bernabeu and he is being tipped to finally move on over the summer.
Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of the young Spaniard, while Manchester United were also thought to have made an enquiry into his availability.
However, Inter Milan owner Erick Thohir is determined to add the player to his squad at the end of the campaign after confirming his interest.
And reports in both Spain and Italy have suggested that Inter striker Mauro Icardi could be included as part of the deal that would see him head to the Spanish capital.
The Argentine goalscorer has been in good form this term for Walter Mazzarri’s men, scoring eight goals in 19 League appearances.
Icardi, though, has had his fair share of off-field controversies whilst at Inter, but coach Carlo Ancelotti is more interested in what he can do on the pitch as he looks to increase his own fire power.
