Full of ideas and the guts to act on instinct and a player Everton should build their midfield around for years to come. Roberto Martinez will do well to keep hold of the youngster.

7. Luke Shaw (Southampton)

Teenage full-back is a wanted man after a near flawless season at St Mary’s, could well make it into Roy Hodgson’s 2014 World Cup squad to neatly top off a superb 2013/14.

6. Jack Wilshere (Arsenal)

Some may consider the Gunners midfielder as a player on the way down but Wilshere is still just 22 and has time to get his career back on track, undoubted ability and has arguably scored the Premier League goal of the season to boot.

5. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal)

Explosive when called upon the England man has struggled with injuries this term but deserves more of a chance to shine at the Emirates Stadium, very much one for the future.

4. Romelu Lukaku (Everton)

Following up a 17 goal West Brom haul with a similarly successful stint at Everton, Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea side may well be sitting top of the Premier League if he hasn’t opted to loan the Belgian out.

3. Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)

The best teenager in the English top flight and a player who gets better every game, far more effective this term, scoring goals and providing a real threat in the final third.

2. Oscar (Chelsea)

Brazilian playmaker supreme has been pivotal to the Blues since his move to the club in the summer of 2012, so full of invention and endeavour.

1. Christian Eriksen (Tottenham)

Dane has been masterful in recent months and is a player with a very bright future, so much so that his White Hart Lane side may struggle to keep hold of his services this summer.
