Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is readying a move to raid his former club as he targets a move for Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria this summer according to Football Direct News.

The 26 year old former Benfica man started the current season poorly and clashed with the Bernabeu side’s fans but has steadily improved of late, scoring in Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey final victory over Barcelona earlier this month.

Jose Mourinho wants to bring in further wide-attacking options and Di Maria is one of the best in the business and could perhaps feel his first team chances are likely to grow limited given the fact that Carlo Ancelotti is looking to use both Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo in roles in the club’s attack, with Karim Benzema sandwiched between the two star turns.

Di Maria has scored 11 goals and provided 17 assists as Real Madrid continue to fight for La Liga and Champions League crowns.

Real Madrid signed the slightly built attacker back in 2010 and he has gone on to rack up 183 appearances for the Spanish giants and one wonders if president Florentino Perez would be willing to sell to former boss Mourinho.
