16. Jozy Altidore (860 minutes per Goal or Assist)

The bulldozing American has been an utterly dismal signing for struggling Sunderland. The 24-year-old has frequently looked out of his depth and his primary attribute seems to be winning free kicks for the opposition. The USMNT striker boasts just one goal and one assist this season. The Black Cats probably wish they had given Connor Wickham a chance sooner.

15. Ricky van Wolfswinkel (662 mins per G or A)

Many felt Norwich had pulled of a major coup when they landed the Dutchman from Sporting last season but after netting on his debut against Man City it’s all been downhill for the 25-year-old striker. Just one further assist in his next 24 Premier League appearance have seen RVW named one of the biggest flops of the season.

14. Iago Aspas (371 mins per G or A)

With Liverpool’s front three among the best in Europe, it’s understandable that Aspas’ opportunities have been limited this season but when he has played, the Spaniard has looked substandard. Just one assist and no goals in 13 league appearances suggests Liverpool could have spent his £7m transfer fee more wisely.

13. Stephane Sessegnon (329 mins per G or A)

The attacking midfielder has had a decent campaign in an inconsistent Baggies’ side, bagging four goals and one assist. Amazingly, that makes him West Brom’s joint top scorer in the league, along with Saido Berahino who also has one assist.

12. Willian (331 mins per G or A)

The Brazilian was at the centre of a bitter three-way tug of war between Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham in the summer and he’s just about justified all the fuss, despite bagging just three goals and two assists all season. His industry and selflessness have proved vital to the Blues and expect more goals from the 25-year-old next season, when he’s more experience in England.

11. Marouane Chamakh (298 mins per G or A)

The Marroccan became the butt of many a joke about dismal finishing during his final months at Arsenal and although he has not quite achieved total redemption at Crystal Palace, Chamakh’s five goals and two assists for Tony Pulis’ overachieving side suggest he can cut it in the Premier League after all.

10. Gary Hooper (236 mins per G or A)

Many wondered how Hooper would fare in England during his time at Celtic. The answer is: ‘Not bad’. Six goals and two assists for a poor Norwich side suggests he could have a very good second season in the Premier League.

9. Victor Anichebe (175 mins per G or A)

Just as during his time at Everton, the Nigerian has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot at West Brom. Anichebe has been a largely disappointing signing for the Baggies but a hot-streak in February means he boasts three goals and the same number of assists.

8. Roberto Soldado (173 mins per G or A)

The £26m Spaniard has been labelled a huge flop, having scored just two league goals from open play for Spurs. But four strikes from the penalty spot and five assists leave Soldado’s vital statistics looking far healthier.

7. Mesut Ozil (152 mins per G or A)

The German’s mere presence huge lifted Arsenal early in the season and a return of four goals and eight assists so far is not too shabby. But for £42.5m, Arsene Wenger will have wanted Ozil to produce his best more often and in the big games. The Frenchman has, however, promised the playmaker will be much better next season.

6. Alvaro Negredo (143 mins per G or A)

The Spaniard earned comparisons with Alan Shearer for his stunning form before Christmas but a series of niggling injuries have seen the goals dry up since late January, leaving Negredo with a respected nine league goals and three assists. With a year of Premier League experience under his belt, he promises to be deadly when back to full fitness next season.

4= Andre Schurrle (142 mins per G or A)

The German has frequently been used as a sub during his first season at Stamford Bridge but boasts a decent recording, having scored seven times. A hat-trick against struggling Fulham greatly boosts his figures, however.

4= Andy Carroll (142 mins per G or A)

Carroll has spent the majority of the campaign in the treatment room but since his return to the pitch, he’s been productive for West Ham, bagging two goals and four assists in 12 appearances. The Hammers’ long-ball game has suited the England star.

3. Wilfried Bony (138 mins per G or A)

With Michu suffering from injuries and second season syndrome, summer signing Bony has led the way for Swansea and has recorded a none to shabby 13 goals and three assists from the struggling Jacks.

2. Christian Eriksen (114 mins per G or A)

Spurs turned to the Dane after missing out on Willian which could prove a massive slice of luck. Eriksen has been a shining light in an otherwise disappointing season for the Lilywhites and seven goals and eight assists in just 22 Premier League appearances suggests the 22-year-old can be a huge star next term.

1. Stevan Jovetic (99 mins per G or A)

Jovetic is statistically the most productive Premier League summer signing but that’s probably because he has not played a great deal. The Montenegrin has bagged just two goals and one assist but they’ve come from just two starts and nine sub appearances. When his injuries clear up, he can be a big player for City.
