GK: Mark Schwarzer

The veteran Aussie has not let in a goal since replacing No 1 Petr Cech at the Vicente Calderon last week and another shut out on Wednesday will go a long way towards sending Chelsea to Lisbon.

RB: Branislav Ivanovic

The powerful Serbia international missed the first leg through suspension, and the Blues will be glad to have the influential defender back for this huge encounter.

CB: John Terry

Initially, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho ruled his skipper out for the rest of the season with an ankle injury picked up in the first leg, but the centre back has seemingly made a miraculous recovery and is now in line to start against Atleti.

CB: Gary Cahill

What a campaign the rock-s0lid England international has enjoyed so far at the heart of the west London club’s back four and he will need to once again be at his very best this week to keep Diego Costa quiet.

LB: Cesar Azpilicueta

Expect the ever-reliable Spaniard to be switched back across to his more unfamiliar position of left back against the La Liga leaders after having been utilised as a right back in recent matches.

CM: David Luiz

The versatile Brazil international will be fielded as a holding midfielder in the absence of the suspended duo of Frank Lampard and John Obi Mikel.

CM: Ramires

And alongside Luiz will be his compatriot, with Mourinho sure to want his all-energy box-to-box midfielder to do more of the running, while his fellow countrymen simply sits in front of the back four.

CM: Andre Schurrle

The German looks like being asked to play in a narrow three-man midfield due to all of the home side’s missing players, and use his great stamina to break forward as much as is possible.

FW: Oscar

With Eden Hazard still not likely to be fit in time to start Wednesday’s match, much of the attacking onus will fall on the slender shoulders of the impish Brazil creator.

ST: Fernando Torres

Can the misfiring Spain international bring his A-game to the Bridge this week and help knock his boyhood club out of Europe’s premier club competition?

FW: Willian

Again, muck like with his compatriot Oscar, the Brazil wide man will be expected to help create the openings to help fire the west Londoners through to their third Champions League final in Lisbon next month.
