Adam Lallana (Southampton)

It was clearly evident from proceedings against Atletico that the west Londoners are in need of more inspiration in midfield if the are to go one step further and qualify for next year’s Champions League final.

And the man who could provide that spark of creativity is the Saints captain, a player who has lit up the Premier League so far this campaign for the south coast outfit.

But Chelsea will need to move fast though after recent reports that Premier League rivals Liverpool are also planning on landing the 25-year-old when the summer transfer window reopens for business.

Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid)

Well, it does not need a rocket scientist to work out what part of the pitch exactly the west London club have fallen short in this season, and especially after the two semi-final ties against the La Liga leaders.

And to that effect the Blues need to act fast in order to secure the Brazil-born striker’s signature for next season before any of their rivals steal the player from under Chelsea’s noses.

As after a campaign in which Costa has managed to find the back of the net on 27 occasions in just 33 Liga outings, the red-hot 25-year-old is just the sort of prolific and clinical marksman the club are in need of this summer.

Ross Barkley (Everton)

The hugely talented Toffees playmaker has really caught the eye this season with a number of impressive displays for Roberto Martinez’s high-flying outfit, with already a number of big-name clubs having been mentioned in the same breath as the wonderkid.

And so Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho should ask owner Roman Abramovich to once again open up his cheque book in order to fund a big-money move for the England international, and preferably before this summer’s World Cup too, after which the 20-year-old’s price tag will only surely soar.

Alberto Moreno (Sevilla)

With experienced England international Ashley Cole now all set to quit Stamford Bridge when his contract expires at the end of June, and Mourinho wanting to utilise versatile Spaniard Cesar Azpilicueta in his more favoured right-back berth at the club next season, the Blues will definitely be on the look out for a new left back this summer.

And the player that Mourinho should be doing everything in his powers to lure to the capital is Sevilla’s hugely talented new Spain international, although the Portuguese will not be the only manager interested in the 21-year-old’s services, as the likes of Real Madrid and Liverpool are also understood to be keen on the player too.

Edinson Cavani (Paris Saint-Germain)

With the likes of Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o all leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of the campaign, Chelsea are going to be in need of not one, but at least two new strikers for the new season, one of which is likely to be Atleti forward Costa as mentioned above,

However, the Blues should take advantage of the current surrounding the future of PSG’s prolific Uruguay international to try to lure the 27-year-0ld from the French to the English capital this summer in what would be an eye-catching strike partnership with Costa.
