Arsenal Identify Six Targets Ahead of Massive £100m Summer Spending Spree

Emirates Stadium side look to have two deals struck before World Cup finals.

Arsenal are reportedly set for a major spending spree this summer with Goal.com claiming that six players have been targeted by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.

The long serving manager will be handed £100m to invest in his squad and the north London club will hope that such an outlay will help convince Wenger to sign a new contract, with his current deal expiring at the end of the current campaign.

23 year old French international Antoine Griezmann is one of Arsenal’s top targets with the £25m rated Real Sociedad man seen as an ideal attacking acqusition.

The adaptable forward has scored 19 goals in all competitions and is already the subject of talks between Arsenal and Griezmann’s La Liga employers.

Wenger continues to track German wonder-kid Julian Draxler and having failed to secure the 20 year old in January the Premier League side will make a fresh offer for the Schalke man now that he has fully recovered from an ankle injury which may have left Arsenal reluctant to push on with efforts to sign the attacking midfielder during the previous transfer window.

Arsenal will look to bring a central midfield signing this term with both Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Flamini fighting for their futures at the Emirates Stadium.

Southampton battler Morgan Schneiderlin has helped his south-coast side up from League One to the English top tier and has more than proven himself at the highest level and is now an Arsene Wenger target.

The 24 year old may well be keen on a move to Arsenal that could help him in his pursuit of a first senior French national team cap.

Lars Bender is another midfielder on the Gunners wish-list and the Bayer Leverkusen man may be a more likely capture if his side fails to secure a Champions League berth with the BayArena side currently sitting in fourth spot, just one point clear of Wolfsburg.

The search is also on for a new right-back signing with Bacary Sagna seemingly set to leave Arsenal when his contract expires in a little over a month’s time.

Eintracht Frankfurt youngster Sebastian Jung is said to be Wenger’s first choice for the role and wouldn’t cost a huge sum though Toulouse’s Serge Aurier has also long been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Arsene Wenger will also look to bring in a keeper with Lukasz Fabianski tempted by offers from Bundesliga clubs Schalke and Borussia Dortmund.

Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelen may also look to leave having spent much of the last 18 months warming the bench with Wenger preferring to use Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny as his first choice central defensive pair.
