The France international joined the Gunners as a relative unknown from Lorient in 2010, but has gone on to cement himself as one of the side’s most important players over the past two years alongside Per Mertesacker, with whom he shares a great understanding.

Speculation surrounding the 28-year-old is no new occurrence as the likes of Barcelona and Bayern Munich have been linked with making moves for him in the past, but it is now Juventus who are said to be the most keen as the summer transfer window approaches.

Coach Antonio Conte is expected to ring the changes in Turin this summer in a bid to make sure that his side halt their failures in Europe. This season the side dropped out of the Champions League in the group stages, and earlier this week were dumped out of the Europa League by Benfica.

The Italian giants could have plenty of money to spend if big names such as Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal leave the club, while defensive players such as Angelo Ogbonna and Martin Caceres could also make way.
