The experienced wide-man is strongly linked with a Nou Camp exit this summer with PSG said to be the favourites to land the 30 year old but Rodgers hopes to tempt the attack minded right-back into making a move to the Premier League.
Liverpool are also said to be keen on youngster Cristian Tello, a target that may prove more likely to make the switch from the La Liga side to Merseyside.
Rodgers has a number of right-back options with first choice starter Glen Johnson having a year to run on his current contract and back-up John Flanagan more recently used effectively on the left, perhaps the Liverpool manager feels that Alves’s top level experience could be invaluable as his side prepares for a Champions League return.
Alves has just over a year to run on his current contract and is said to be valued at £15m.
