The youngster moved to the Allianz Arena in a £33m deal last summer but has played something of a limited role this term leading to speculation that the German international may look to make a swift exit from the Bundesliga outfit.
Gotze has publicly spoken of his dissatisfaction with life in Bavaria, stating;
‘Of course I’m not happy,’ he said.
‘I want to win back the trust of the coach to play more.’
The 21 year old has started 20 of Bayern Munich’s 33 Bundesliga fixtures but perhaps more tellingly failed to make the starting eleven in either of his side’s encounters with Real Madrid in their recent Champions League semi-final clash which has led to a great deal of interest in the goal-scoring midfielder.
Arsenal may well have a fair few creative talent but Arsene Wenger’s pursuit of Schalke’s Julian Draxler shows the Gunners boss is still keen to bring in goal-scoring midfielders and Gotze is one of the best in the business.
Despite his irregular role at Bayern Munich Gotze has still managed to net 13 goals and provide 11 assists in all competitions this term.
