Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Turns Down £18m-A-Year Offer To Manage Man United

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has turned the chance to become the next Manchester United manager, despite the fact that the Premier League champions offered the experienced Italian a contract worth a staggering £18m per season to take over from the recently sacked David Moyes in the Old Trafford hot seat next season, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The Red Devils parted company with the Scot last month following a string of disappointing results that had left the Premier League giants languishing down in an unfamiliar seventh place in the top flight, as well as having been knocked out of the Uefa Champions League, FA Cup and the Capital One Cup.

And as a result, United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has since been scouring the world for a suitable replacement for the former Everton boss, with most expecting the Netherlands national team head coach Louis van Gaal to be given the role at the Theatre of Dreams this summer.

However, it has now been claimed in Spain that United tried to persuade Ancelotti to join them by offering the 54-year-old a bumper deal, only for the ex-Chelsea manager to spurn their advances.
