Togo international could be poised for a summer switch to England.
Check in to Hull City vs Everton
Five Premier League teams are interested in signing Marseille midfielder Alaixys Romao this summer, report Sky Sports.
The 30-year-old, who has been capped 48 times by Togo at senior international level, has been a first-team regular at the Stade Velodrome since arriving from Lorient in January 2013.
However, Marseille are apparently ready to offload a whole host of players at the end of the season following a disappointing campaign. Last year’s runners-up are currently sixth in the Ligue 1 table with two games left to play.
Romao, has two years to run on his current contract, but according to Sky Sports, Marseille could be willing to sell him for a fee in the region of £2.4m.
Sky also claim that West Ham United, Everton, Sunderland, Newcastle United and Hull City are among Romao’s admirers and that the player himself would welcome a move to England.
Romao, who can operate as a central defender as well as in midfield, has made 34 Ligue 1 appearances this season, scoring one goal.
He has also featured five times in the Champions League this term.
His previous clubs include Toulouse, Louhans-Cuiseaux and Grenoble.
