The recently capped England international has been the subject of much interest in his services from a whole host of big-name clubs throughout the campaign, although it is thought that Shaw is now set to choose between the Red Devils and the west Londoners as to his next port of call this summer.
And it is understood that Shaw is now leaning towards moving to Old Trafford when the transfer window does finally reopen for business to take over from experienced France international Patrice Evra in the north west next season, with two factors said to be behind the 18-year-old’s decision.
The first is that United are able to offer Shaw a guarantee of first-team football at the Theatre of Dreams in the next campaign, something the Blues are unable to do, while perhaps more importantly, United are also willing to meet the Saints’ whopping £25m asking price for the full back unlike Chelsea.
