Such an offer is sure to be given short shrift by the Anfield side though may perhaps just be an attempt by the Bernabeu side to alert the 27 year old Uruguayan to their intentions, which could in turn lead the forward to make an official transfer request.
The former Ajax man only recently signed a new long term contract that makes him the highest paid player in Liverpool’s history and his form this term has led to a triumphant return to Champions League action so one wonders if Suarez would even consider leaving the Merseyside outfit at this juncture.
Real Madrid are ready to offer forward Karim Benzema as a makeweight in a future offer if a straight cash sum isn’t accepted by Liverpool.
Suarez has been in outstanding form this season, topping the Premier League goal-scoring charts having netted 31 goals in 32 starts. On top of this the unstoppable striker is also the joint leading assist maker in the English top tier and isn’t a player Brendan Rodgers would ever consider offloading, no matter how much is offered.
Real Madrid’s only real hope of securing Suarez is if the player himself made it abundantly clear he wanted to leave but at present he appears to be very happy at the club and even an unsuccessful Premier League title push may not be enough to change his attitude towards remaining at Liverpool.
Liverpool v Newcastle
Liverpool HOME WIN
“Liverpool must win this (and hope man city slip up) to have any hope of taking the title. Having scored 51 goals at home they should be able to break down the weak Newcastle defence. The visitors have been in free fall recently despite winning their last home match, they have lost to some poor sides during that dire run and even if Liverpool suffer from nerves, anything bar a home win looks very unlikely”
