Alberto Moreno (Sevilla)

Spain’s new left back is currently one of the hottest and most sought-after young players in his position in world football after a brilliant campaign on the left-hand side of Sevilla’s back four.

And with the west London club currently on the look out for a new left back to replace Cole, it is understood that manager Jose Mourinho is pondering making a move for the player this summer.

However, with his club demanding £20m plus for the 21-year-old, the Blues may be forced to look at cheaper alternatives.

Luke Shaw (Southampton)

The England international is set to quit St Mary’s this summer, with Premier League champions Manchester United known to be keen to lure the starlet north to Old Trafford as a replacement for Patrice Evra.

However, Chelsea have also expressed an interest in the left back, although again the sticking point to the club being able to land Shaw remains the south coast outfit’s eye-catching valuation of their prize asset, with the Saints believed to be seeking a whopping £25m for the player.

Feilipe Luis (Atletico Madrid)

Perhaps a better value target would be Atletico’s consistent Brazil international, who the west London club will have been able to run their eye over during their recent clash with the La Liga leaders in the semi-finals of the Uefa Champions League.

And Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho could only have been impressed with what he saw across those two matches, so much so in fact that it is understood that the self-styled Special One now intends to make a move for the experienced 28-year-old come the end of the season.

Fabio Coentrao (Real Madrid)

A player that Mourinho knows only too well from his three years spent in charge of Los Blancos, the last two of which saw the attacking Portugal international installed as the La Liga giants’ first-choice left back.

And with the 26-year-old now set to leave the Santiago Bernabeu come the end of the campaign after losing his place in the first team to Brazil international Marcelo, the Special One could once again be reunited with his compatriot at Stamford Bridge next season.

Guilherme Siqueira (Granada)

And if all of the above targets fall through, then expect the Blues to make a move for Granada’s Brazilian left back who has impressed greatly while spending a season-long loan spell with Portuguese champions Benfica in this campaign.

Siqueira, 28, came very close to actually signing for Liverpool last summer, only for the deal to collapse at the very last minute, hence the player’s subsequent switch to the Portuguese capital instead, and with a contract in Spain until 2017, the full back would represent a far cheaper alternative to the four other left backs the club are chasing at present.
